👋 Hi, I’m Shannon Benne.
I’m a passionate Developmental Educator with over 25 years’ experience in education, disability support, and inclusion. I use a holistic, neuro-affirming approach to help children, teens and families thrive; focusing on connection, practical tools, and supporting each person’s unique journey.
I've supported individuals with high medical needs, ran camps and provided in-home care. Taught in classrooms, collaborated in clinics, provided support and education to educators and family members and delivered one-on-one therapy to children and teens. Each role has deepened my understanding of the unique supports and education needed for individual growth, and I use this knowledge to tailor my strategies to equip individuals and families for empowerment for happiness and growth.
I hold Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Science (Disability) and Primary Education. My approach honours the whole person, their strengths, challenges, and experiences. I view neurodiversity and disability as natural human variations, each rich with potential, individuality, and the right to meaningful, inclusive support.
I celebrate strengths while supporting challenges with compassion and respect. I walk alongside clients through both easy and hard moments, guided by their goals and voice. Connection, choice, and trust are at the heart of meaningful growth and progress in every partnership.
As a neurodivergent parent of neurodivergent children, I bring lived experience alongside professional expertise. I understand the resilience, complexity, and importance of well being in these journeys. This shapes my work into something practical, empathetic, and genuinely family-friendly.
My practice honours each person’s identity, needs, and home life. I support children, adults, and families with empathy, positivity, and deep respect. When you work with me, you gain a committed partner who sees your strengths and walks beside you, at your pace, toward your goals.
